Baptismal Ministry: Discussion-Programs-Processes

"Who'da Thought?"
by MicKa D. Leal

Sometimes I wonder
if God knows what He is
doing. He picks the strangest
motley crew to do His bidding...

King David, anointed of God
Shepherd/harpist. Spent most of his
early adulthood on the streets running and
hiding from a ticked-off mentally ill king.

John the Baptist, a camel-hide clad,
bug-eating, desert hermit responsible
for the preparatory foundation
of the Christ's domain on earth.

Joseph, step-father to the Christ.
Carpenter in a land without much wood
willing to marry nut case who insists
she's been impregnated by the Holy Spirit.

Mary, mother to the Son of God.
Probably not much different
than your 13/14 year old or mine.
(What was He thinking!)

Peter, CEO of Jewish Christianity,
a fisherman prone to impulsive actions
and speech, known to be opinionated
and judgmental, yet repentant.

Paul, CEO of Gentile Christianity.
Known murderer of Jewish Christians
educated in Torah and the Law.
Tent-maker by trade.

Mary of Magdala
Her "experiences" definitely
prepared her to work with
and support the "motley twelve".
