The mudslide in Oso has been a devastating event not only for those directly involved, but for hundreds and thousands of other Washington residents who lost friends, relatives, coworkers, and fellow parishioners. The recovery efforts continue and hundreds of workers continue to be involved in that process.
President Obama has declared the area a federal disaster area and while that brings needed funds and resources to the of victims and workers, there is still much healing and work to do. Bishop Greg Rickel of the Diocese of Olympia has sent out a letter noting that over $25,000 has been donated to their Oso response fund. But, as he has said, “There will be a greater need and donations will be encouraged and accepted now and for the conceivable future.”
Below you will find a link to the donation fund set up by the Diocese of Olympia that will further work being done now and into the future.
