Two Oregon Episcopal School Seniors named Intel Science Talent Search Finalists

Oregon Episcopal School seniors Elyse Hope and Sergio-Francis Zenisek have been named finalists in the Intel Science Talent Search, a national competition that is often considered the "junior Nobel Prize." Elyse and Sergio-Francis are among 40 students nationwide who were chosen as finalists. They will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., for final judging (March 14) and awarding of scholarships totaling more than $500,000.
Sergio-Francis Zenisek's project is entitled: “Recombination of RNA in Compartmentalized Systems: An Origin-of-Life Study” (Biochemistry); and Elyse Hope's project is entitled: “Creating a Novel Program for Determining the Three-Dimensional Movement Rates of Sunspots and Active Solar Magnetic Regions” (Space Sciences).
