Nominations for the annual Environmental Award now being accepted

The Environmental Commission is now accepting nominations for the annual Environmental Award to be presented at Diocesan Convention in November. The Commission is seeking recent projects or activities that concern energy efficiency, renewable energy, liturgy and worship, water conservation, recycling, land stewardship (gardening, landscaping, watershed restoration, forestry etc.), children's activities or development in nature, voluntary simplicity and sustainable living.
Categories are:
- Youth activities
- Congregational activities
- Diocesan institutions, departments, committees
1. E-mail nominations to alicesp@teleport.com. Please submit entries before September 15, 2006.
2. Entries should include a short narrative describing the project, plus the name, address and telephone of the contact person.
3. Any Diocese of Oregon church or program group may enter.
4. The award is for activities or programs conducted during 2005/2006.
5. The Environmental Commission will make the final selection. The Commission seeks innovative environmental activities that create a connection between the spirit and the earth and that enhance the commitment to earth stewardship.
6. The award will be presented at the Diocesan Convention in November
