Children's Advocacy Day Highlights Millennium Development Goals

The Rev. Dcn. Maureen Hagen, director of Christian Formation at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Salem, distributes an informational flyer on how to address the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on a local level.   Fr. Steve Norcross, director of pastoral service at William Temple House and interim priest at Ascension Episcopal Church in Portland, answered questions about William Temple House and its outreach services at Children’s Advocacy Day.   A mother and her son listen to Matt Newell-Ching of Bread for the World talk abound international hunger at Children's Advocacy Day.   Kids attending Children’s Advocacy Day were treated to face painting, among other child-friendly activities.
             
   
Ecumenical clowns worked the crowd at Children’s Advocacy Day.   Jennifer Itty, daughter of Bishop Johncy Itty, volunteered her talents as a face painter at Children's Advocacy Day.   The Episcopal Combined Children's Choir, conducted by Audrey Sackett, performed at Children's Advocacy Day. They represented St. Michael and All Angels, St. Philip the Deacon and All Saints Churches in Portland.
