Iona Jackson, the widow of The Rev. Chandler Jackson died December 12, 2006. The Memorial Service is Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 2:00pm at Christ Church, Lake Oswego. She will inured in the Memorial Garden there. Anyone wishing to make memorial donations, the family has suggested William Temple House.

The Rev. Noel Knelange, the first woman to be ordained a priest in the Diocese of Oregon, died on December 8, 2006, from complications of cancer. She was 62. Since 1982, Knelange has served as vicar of St. Hilda, Monmouth. Before that, she was St. Hilda’s deacon. Knelange was ordained to the priesthood on May 20, 1982 at the Church of the Good Samaritan, Corvallis, with the Rt. Rev. Rustin R. Kimsey, Bishop of Eastern Oregon, officiating with permission from Bishop Matthew Bigliardi. She had been ordained according to the form and manner of Making Deaconess on November 10, 1968 in the Diocese of Los Angeles.
Noël Knelange was born on Christmas Day, 1943. She graduated from Helix High School in La Mesa, CA, in 1962. She earned a bachelor’s degree from California Western University in 1966 and a master’s degree from Seabury Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL in 1968.
From 1970-71, she ministered in her sponsoring parish of St. Andrew, Las Mesa, CA. After she moved to Oregon in 1971, she served at St. Mark, Medford; Trinity, Ashland; Church of the Good Samaritan, Corvallis; Good Samaritan Hospital (chaplain); St. Barnabas, Portland; and finally, at St. Hilda, Monmouth.
Knelange is survived by her husband, the Rev. Dcn. William Mosier, two nieces and one nephew.
Services will be held at The Church of the Good Samaritan in Corvallis, Tuesday December 19 at 3:00 pm.
