Clergy Association/ORCA
(Oregon Clergy Association)

The Oregon Clergy Association (ORCA) has been active since the mid-1980s. All ordained persons in the diocese are considered members and are encouraged to pay dues, which support both the diocesan association and the work on behalf of clergy and the church of the National Network of Episcopal Clergy Associations (NNECA).

ORCA acts as an advocate for the clergy; promoting collegiality, health education and continuing growth among clergy. It organizes the diocesan spring clergy conference each year and sponsors activities and workshops about various professional concerns: e.g., clergy wellness, tax issues, evangelism, retirement planning, and preaching. ORCA has published a booklet on clergy standards of conduct and sponsors social events for clergy and t heir families including an Advent or Epiphany dinner.

In addition to its advocacy within the diocese, ORCA leaders can be called upon to assist individual clergy in various ways. Dues of $95 per year; retirees and others on limited incomes may pay reduced dues of $50.
