The Standing Committee is pleased to report that the Board of Trustees has instituted the audit process. Venne & Company, an audit firm, was chosen. Jeff Hart will be the lead auditor beginning the process today. He was introduced to staff and they stand ready to assist him in any way necessary.
The Finance Officer position has been filled. The Standing Committee accepted the recommendation of the Search Committee to appoint Mary T. Miller of Salem. The Search Committee was comprised of three members of the Board of Trustees and one member of Standing Committee. Ms. Miller comes to us from the Finance Department of the Housing Authority of the City of Salem. She has extensive experience in working with non-profits and has designed and maintained financial reports for diverse groups. She holds a BA in Economics and a Post Baccalaureate Degree in Accounting. Ms. Miller will join the staff on September 22. Please join us in welcoming her.
Province VIII requested names to be placed in nomination for its Trial Court. Chosen from the names submitted to stand for election are the Rev. John Scannell, retired and Mike Dotten, attorney and member of Christ Church, Portland. We are blessed to have two such talented individuals willing to serve.

September 15th is fast approaching. That is the deadline for “A Call to Ministry” forms to be returned to the Standing Committee for consideration to be appointed to the Search or Transition Committees. The form appears in the most recent edition of the Oregon Episcopal Church News and is on-line. Qualifications of committee members are also available in the News and on-line.
