A New Call: Rev. Samuel Borbón

La Oficina de Ministerios Latinos/Hispanos se complace en anunciar que el Rev. Samuel Borbón ha sido llamado para servir como Misionero Asociado para los Ministerios Latinos/Hispanos y Desarrollo de Programas como parte del equipo del Obispo Presidente. Samuel+ será el principal responsable de brindar apoyo a los diversos programas de liderazgo dentro de la Oficina del Ministerio Latino/Hispano y específicamente proveer capacitación para la Academia Ecuménica de Liderazgo y en asociación con ERD administrar el trabajo de trans-creación con “Llamados a la transformación [ABCD]”. Además, Samuel+ ayudará al Misionero en el entrenamiento de desarrolladores de iglesias y en el programa Nuevo Camino.

Samuel+ es de la diócesis de Oregón donde más recientemente sirvió como sacerdote a cargo de la Iglesia Episcopal de Santa María en Woodburn, Oregon, que es una congregación latina puesta en marcha en asociación entre la Diócesis de Oregón y el Sínodo de Oregon de la ELCA. Samuel+ es entrenador facilitador de la Academia Ecuménica y coordinador de Nuevo Amanecer 2018. Tiene experiencia en el desarrollo de programas bilingües/biculturales y de liderazgo laico. Actualmente Samuel+ está entrenando como coach a través de CoachNet.

The Office of Latino/Hispanic Ministries of The Episcopal Church is pleased to announce that the Rev. Samuel Borbón has been called to serve as Associate Missioner for Latino/Hispanic Ministries and Program Development as part of the Presiding Bishop’s Staff. Samuel+ will be primarily responsible for providing support to the various leadership programs within the Office of Latino/Hispanic Ministry and specifically providing training for the Academia Ecumenica de Liderazgo [Ecumenical Academy for Leadership] and in partnership with ERD manage the trans-creation work with Called to Transformation [ABCD]. Additionally, Samuel+ will assist the Missioner in church redeveloper training and the New Camino program.

Samuel+ most recently he served as priest in charge of St Mary’s Episcopal Church in Woodburn, Oregon, which is a Latino congregation start up in partnership between the Diocese of Oregon and the Oregon Synod of the ELCA. Samuel+ is a facilitator trainer for the Academia Ecumenica and co-coordinator for Nuevo Amanecer 2018. He has experience in bilingual/bicultural ministry and lay leadership program development. Currently Samuel+ is training as a coach through CoachNet.

  1. Congratulations on this new calling/position. I was blessed to attend the weekly Sunday Misa at Church of Redeemer in Sarasota, FL~a parish with a strong part-time Hispanic ministry. Now living in Medford I often visit family in Portland where I reactivated my membership at Trinity Cathedral. Wishing you God’s Blessing.

      the Oregon Synod ELCA in Assembly being held in Portland May 5-7. Anticipating partnership!
