Allison ‘Alli’ Gannett will join the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon staff November 23, 2020 as the Director of Communications. Alli comes to the diocese after serving as the Digital Media Coordinator for the Episcopal Church in Connecticut.

A storyteller and evangelist by nature, Alli brings a passion for sharing the stories of how God works in our collective and individual lives. During her time in Connecticut, Alli worked closely with all aspects of diocesan communications, digital and social media presence, website assistance, and storytelling. In 2017 she helped to launch the award-winning podcast Coffee Hour at The Commons, which she co-hosted, edited, and produced.

Along with her ministries in digital evangelism and storytelling, Alli is passionate about the healing power of creation and one’s experience of God through the natural world. Alli has served in two national parks, Bryce Canyon and Mt. Rainier, with the organization A Christian Ministry in the National Parks (ACMNP). She is also an avid hiker and backpacker, clocking in over 1,500 miles along the Appalachian Trail. When she is not hiking or sharing the Good News with others, you can find her throwing pottery, refinishing furniture, running, or drinking excessive amounts of coffee.

Alli, her partner Tim, an Oregon native and a PhD candidate at Yale University, and their two cats, currently live in New Haven, Connecticut and plan to make the move to the Portland area in the new year. Alli holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Pittsburgh, a M.Div. from Yale University/Yale Divinity School, and a Certificate of Anglican Studies from Berkeley Divinity School in New Haven.
