Ascension School Camp & Conference Center is looking for energetic people who enjoy working with youth, want to make a difference in children’s lives, and aren’t afraid to have fun!
Ascension School is an Episcopal summer camp and retreat center at the foothills of the beautiful Wallowa Mountains in NE Oregon that offers summer camps for youth ages 5 – 17. Summer staff members are an integral part of our summer program – building and carrying out intentional programming for campers based on the mission of Ascension School and the theme for the summer. This summer’s theme is Building Compassion.
We are an inclusive, welcoming institution and the summer staff work together as a team to ensure a safe, healthy camp environment, full of encouragement and compassion. We are an American Camping Association (ACA) accredited camp.
Resident Summer Staff supervise cabin groups, lead/co-lead family groups, plan and facilitate large group activities (sports, swimming, arts and crafts, and more), supervise campers during on- and off-campus activities (swimming, canoeing, backpacking), mentor Junior Counselors, and monitor camper health, safety, behavior and wellbeing.
Resident Staff must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school. At least one year of college or work experience is strongly preferred. Staff training begins June 18. The summer camp season runs through August 5.
Compensation: $1800 for the 7-week season (includes 1 week of leadership training) plus full room and board (our chef is amazing!)
