Christ Church, Lake Oswego Seeks Part-time Parish Business/Facilities Manager

Position:              Parish Business/Facilities Manager

Hours:                  19 hours per week

SUMMARY – The Parish Business/Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the church buildings, repair and maintenance with the assistance of the Junior Warden. This position reports to the Rector/Priest in Charge and Associate Rector.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Help generate and maintain annual budget for building expenses.
  • Supervise the Parish Sexton and his/her duties.
  • Maintain the Church Calendar while taking all requests for future events for the Church.
  • Liaison with the Lake Oswego Parks and Recreation Department and their Events.
  • Finalize event setups.
  • Maintain communication with other Church employees, Vestry Members, and Ministry Leaders
  • Follow Church and Diocesan Policies.
  • Assist with safe Church Practices for new members of Staff, Vestry and Ministry’s.
  • Keep records of Eucharist Ministers and every 3 years send into Diocese for Bishop’s approval.
  • Assure compliance with codes and laws pertinent to health, fire & safety.
  • Performs advanced and complex clerical duties requiring the use of independent judgment,
  • Submit monthly report to the Vestry of duties performed the previous month.
  • Attend weekly Staff meetings
  • Work close with Clergy, Vestry, Guilds and Committee heads.
  • Assist in light bookkeeping duties, such as bill payment review
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS – To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Verbal, written, and telephone communication skills;
  • Maintaining complicated and detailed records and file organization;
  • Ability to analyze situations and make appropriate recommendations;
  • Proficient with computers at a user level;
  • Experience at using MS Office Suite including Word, Outlook and Excel;
  • Ability to work independently and under general supervision;
  • Detail oriented, flexible, team player;
  • Proficient at handling and prioritizing multiple tasks;
  • Taking the initiative;
  • Ability to work independently and under general supervision;
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures and guidelines.

COMPENSATION – $19,000 per year.  Vacation of 1 week the first year and 2 weeks years 2-5.
