You are warmly invited to a guest concert at Ascension Episcopal Parish in honor of Women’s History Month. On Saturday, March 9 at 7pm, we will offer a performance of devotional and introspective music by women composers of the Baroque.

The concert will include motets for voices and organ by Italian composer and abbess Isabella Leonarda (1620-1704). Her sensitive settings of passionate devotional poetry are excellent for opening the season of Lent.

Also on the program is the elegant, sophisticated Suite in D minor from Pièces de clavecin (1707) by French composer, harpsichordist and organist Élisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre (1665-1729).

A freewill offering will be accepted and a light reception will follow the concert.
