Congregational Vitality

Congregational Vitality

The ministry of congregational vitality helps congregations of every size become more healthy, faithful and sustainable expressions of Christ’s mission in their local contexts. We strengthen congregational life to nourish the unique gifts of witness found in communities throughout the diocese.

Through a number of resources, we support churches in developing:

  • Joyful Leadership
  • Mission in the World
  • Formation in Christ
  • Sacramental Hospitality

These goals are laid out more fully in The Marks of Congregational Vitality.

A number of opportunities are available throughout the year, including workshops for clergy and lay leaders, training for vestry/BAC members, and assistance from the Diocesan Consultants Network. Many congregations have taken advantage of these resources for help with vestry retreats, conflict management, capital campaigns, redevelopment, and other specific concerns.

Check out our Congregational Resources and Clergy Resources, or contact the Rev. Canon Carol W. Sedlacek or the Rev. Canon Neysa Ellgren Shepley for more information.
