New Call: the Rev. Shawn Dickerson, St. Paul’s, Oregon City

The Vestry of St. Paul’s, Oregon City, is pleased to announce that Reverend Shawn Dickerson has accepted its call to become Rector of St. Paul’s, effective January 1, 2018.

Father Dickerson comes to St. Paul’s from St. James in Boardman, Ohio, where for the past three years he served as Priest-in-Charge to a parish dealing with the passing of a rector and closing of nearby congregations. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Bexley Hall Episcopal Seminary, in Bexley, Ohio.

Prior to his ordination in 2014, Father Shawn was Fire Department Chief for the Norwalk (Ohio) fire department, and served on active and reserve duty with the United States Coast Guard, including a deployment to Kuwait where he supervised port security. He was awarded a Coast Guard Commendation Medal in 2008.

Father Shawn received a Bachelor of Education degree from Kansas State University in 1994, and subsequently taught classes in Science, English and Environmental Education in various elementary schools.

Father Shawn will be a full time rector for St. Paul’s, and will be living next door in the rectory. His hobbies include rowing and gardening.
