New Call: the Rev. Timothy Hannon to St. James, Coquille

The Rev. Tim Hannon with his wife, Helene, and children Gwendolyn and Fiona

Senior Warden Peter Baumer and Search Committee Chair Lisa Crew of St James Episcopal Church of Coquille, Oregon, are delighted to announce the Reverend Timothy Hannon of Sewanee, Tennessee, has accepted a call to become vicar of our congregation.  Father Tim’s intelligence, discernment, and compassion impressed the Search Committee from our first interview, and we look forward to his guidance as we move forward with our quest for a deeper knowledge of our Lord.

Timothy Hannon began his ministry in education, teaching first at a rural middle school in Japan, then at the Universities of Georgia and Oregon.  He holds M.A.s in both English and Comparative Literatures, as well as an M.Div. from The School of Theology in Sewanee, Tennessee.  After his ordination to the priesthood, he served as a priest in the Southeast Tennessee Episcopal Ministry (STEM) parishes.  He and his wife, Helene, are both natives of New Jersey and have two children: Gwendolyn, who is soon to turn three, and Fiona, who was just born in April of this year. He is looking forward to guiding the people of St. James into a deeper knowledge of Christ in their lives and in the world.

Father Tim and family will move to Coquille in July and begin his ministry with St. James on July 15, 2018.
