St. Philip the Deacon seeks a pianist to play for the 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning service, one to two Sundays per month.
The position requires a time commitment of three to four hours per week, including practice time and the Sunday service. A flat fee will be paid for each Sunday.
At St. Philip the Deacon we use all types of worship music, including music from the African-American tradition, in our services.
Qualified applicants must be able to work with and take direction from clergy and staff, and experience with Episcopal liturgy is a plus.

- Sight reading a hymn from the 1982 Hymnal
- Sight reading a hymn from the African-American hymn tradition
- A piece of the candidate’s choice, suitable for a prelude or postlude
- A piece of the candidate’s choice, from the African-American hymn tradition
